Director Nominees

Faye Branden

I would like to provide some background of my experience that I think is of value to the Pembina West Board.
My education back-ground consists of a diploma from NAIT in Business Administration, my major Financial Management.
I then worked for Agriculture Financial Management Services Corporation (AFSC) for 26 years. The majority of those years I held the role of Regional Manager. This background has provided me with experience in Strategic Planning, Finance, Budgeting and many more aspects that is the responsibility of the Pembina West Board.
In the past six years of my serving on the Board, Pembina West has seen expansion of business and increases in sales to over $115 million in 2023. This achievement is a result of our membership loyalty, the hard work of the staff, and the planning to achieve enhancements to the business and the community Pembina West serves.
I have completed Level 1 and Level 2 Training, which has provided better understanding of the Co-op model. I have served as a chair of the Finance Committee and have been on most of the committees within the Board. As well, I have travelled to conferences for further training.
The many volunteer activities and financial support Pembina West provides an ongoing commitment to local clubs and organizations within the community.
Having been a 4-H leader when our three children were growing up, and my membership in a number of clubs and presently Secretary Treasurer of the Barrhead Women’s Conference Planning Committee, I have seen the impact Pembina West has with their support. I am proud to be a part of these endeavors.
With the travelling requirements I had when working for AFSC, I am very happy to call Barrhead home. I am dedicated to giving back to this community, and would value the opportunity to once again serve on the Board of Directors.
With our family grown up, and my husband and I retired, I have time and energy for the next three years of commitment to Pembina West.
Thank you for your consideration.

Tom Carroll

My age is 67 and I was born and raised in Edmonton, AB, 4th of 5 children.
I completed high school at St. Joe’s and completed the Architectural Technology course at NAIT. My career tradeship included framing, concrete work, siding installation, kitchen and bathroom renovations, as a subcontractor, incorporated in 1984.
In the late 90’s I began selling and producing my own jobs, as a General Contractor, for residential and commercial customers, becoming prolific in sales and project management.
My wife and I have bought, renovated and sold 13 houses over the last 40 years, which became the foundation of our investment income.
We moved to Barrhead in May of 2022 with our 9 year old granddaughter to get out of the city.
We currently provide a support home for 2 young adults who are PPD eligible through the Catholic Social Services agency.
I started attending Barrhead town Council meetings in September of 2022, creating business relationships with Councillors, Mayor, CAO and the local business people who came to address the council with special presentations.
I have also attended the County of Barrhead meetings, became a volunteer board member of FCSS and a member of Barrhead Elks.
Earlier this year, I completed an intensive, advanced grant writing course produced by David Kincade owner of Alberta Business Grants Ltd.
I have been working with the Executive Director of FCSS to research and develop grant applications and have personally met with our local MLA and our MP to introduce myself as a grant writer inspired to help the economy of Barrhead.
I am interested in writing grant applications that support Agriculture, Employment, Innovation, Non Profit Societies & Education in the Barrhead area.
Hopefully, my contribution to this community will help it thrive, so my granddaughter and her friends coming out of high school have a bright future right here, in their hometown.

Adriana Spreen-Mills

Hello, I am Adriana Spreen-Mills and I would like to tell you a bit about myself.
I moved to Barrhead in 1998 with my two boys. I have held the same job as a dental assistant for the last 25 years. I have sat on the Minor Hockey Board for 8 years, as the ref assigner and clinic coordinator.
I joined the Pembina West Co-op Board in 2021. I have enjoyed learning and appreciate the knowledge I have gotten so far. I would like to continue learning and supporting the Co-op.
The difference our local Co-op makes in the communities and also supports our staff.
I am proud to be a member of our Board and member of Pembina West Co-op.
