2025 AGM
June 18, 2025

Pembina West Co-op held our 17th Annual General Meeting on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, along with an information session in Mayerthorpe on Tuesday, June 24, 2025.

The meetings were well attended, and we had some valuable discussions with our members on the strategic direction of the Co-op. We value these opportunities to directly meet with our members, and we welcome ongoing feedback and questions at any time throughout the year.

If you were not able to attend our annual meetings, we invite you to pick up an annual report from any of our retail or office locations. Copies will be made available at these locations shortly.

This year, we had three seats on our board of directors up for election to a three-year term. As our bylaws state that two seats on the board shall be reserved for members from the Mayerthorpe area, Susan White was re-elected to the board by acclimation as the only candidate from the Mayerthorpe area running for the available seat.

The two remaining seats were voted on during our AGM, which resulted in the re-election of Helmut Ehrenholz and the election of a new board member, Ed Miedema.

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to outgoing director Dallas Stevens.

Following the Annual General Meeting each year, the board of directors holds a re-organizational meeting to elect the leadership of their board. This year, our board of directors will be led by our new Board President Ivan Kusal. Returning as Board Vice President is Joan McLenaghan, and Susan White will again serve as Board Secretary.

We welcome our new Director, Ed Miedema.

My name is Ed Miedema, a proud member of Pembina West Co‑op.
I am a father of four, ages 8, 7, 5 and 2. My wife and I ran a beekeeping operation for 10 years in the County of Barrhead.
I am now a sales representative for Neeralta, a local company that builds grain handling equipment right here in Barrhead County.
I have served on several different boards in our community, and I was asked to let my name stand for election to the Pembina West Co-op board by a staff member of the Co-op. I have enjoyed servicing my community, and I see myself being a good fit to join the board of the Co-op. Since I am not currently serving on any other boards, I have the time, and I welcome the learning opportunity to serve our local Co-op.
